WAI info request
Hello everyone....hope the new year is treating everyone better. I have a question about the WAI conf, if someone can help me it would be great. First off this is the first time I am attending it. So here are my questions.
1. I am only able to attend the last day (Mar4th), but it says no fast pass slots for that day. Does that mean I won't have access to the recruiters for the last day?
2. If I attend the conference, will it show dedication on my part that I really want to be with one of the majors?
3. I am guessing WAI is quite a big conf....if I make it there, will the airlines I am targeting look at it as good effort on my part?
It would be really helpful if anyone can answer this for me as this is my first time attending & I am flying in from overseas. Thank you in advance.

Unfortunantely, yes. The only people you will be able to talk to are places like Frontier, Spirit, any regional airline etc.If you don't have a Fast Pass its almost pointless in going.
2. If I attend the conference, will it show dedication on my part that I really want to be with one of the majors?
Shows dedication? Maybe, its hard to say. There are probably tons of people on here (myself included) that have attended both WIA and OBAP repeatedly yet no call.

Maybe, but the problem is this. At the end of the day your still a number in a stack of 10,000+ applications. Even if a recruiter really likes you, it really seems that they have no control in helping you. All you will hear is "Keep doing what your doing, you have what we are looking for, keep plugging away." It might help you score more points on your app and get it into the "Will call" attending multiple fairs, but again who really knows. I know guys who are way more than qualified and haven't received a call. On the flip side there are people who never attend and get interviews. Take it for what its worth. I'm at an LCC now and am happy and won't be hitting the circuit for awhile.

It's the WAI folks that don't want to deal with too much crowd control, so they impose the rules. The airline recruiters aren't all the on same page, so you'll never know if you might get a lucky chance. If you're aiming for United, don't count on it.

After having paid for the whole weekend at WAI, I received my Fast Pass assignments. They happen to be my last two choices - airlines I haven't even applied for. A: Is it still worth going and B: What are my chances of actually getting to talk to someone from Delta or United on days 1 and 2 without the Fast Pass? I can't go on day 3 - Should I just get a refund?

Typical the last day of these conferences end up being a bit of a ghost town. Lots of people hit it hard the first few days and it tends to thin out toward the end. Just about every company at OBAP last year was allowing walk ups by 9-10AM on Friday.
