Help with Atlas JS from PVG
Hi,
I'm listed (or at least believe I am) on Atlas 7557 PVG to ANC on the 21st. Just looking for advice from anyone that's done this or guidance from an Atlas Pilot. Deciding whether to try to meet the crew at the Courtyard Hotel (assuming this is still correct) or outside the terminal. I will land about 5 hours prior to the Atlas Flight. I can take my company transportation which gets me within 15 min or so of the Courtyard... or wait for 3 - 4 hours at the terminal. Any help would be much appreciated. Also is there a way to get the Captain's email?
Thanks!

If you're SB, you show on the flight. We sometimes used different hotels so I'd say, boring as it's going to be, just hang at the terminal. Given that it's a week out, the odds are 50/50 if any of the listed crew are actually who will be flying it.

Got this from PVG OPS.....
Just talking to immigration and I am sorry to tell you that you can not take QF flight as Jampseater because of inbound by FEDex flight, only can in and out by same company.

Yeah. That would be correct. Unless you have a tourist visa, you can only jumpseat / commercial out if you were part of the crew inbound or vice versa.

So I operated in...Is there a restriction as to how I leave? Can I JS on any carrier or purchase a ticket on a pax flight? Or are you saying I can only leave by operating or JS on the same carrier I arrived on?

Easiest would be to try to JS on the carrier you came in on.

As stated above normally you can’t change status between “crew” and “tourist.” Atlas/Polar has an agreement with Chinese immigration to change status and even with the paperwork in hand my record for detention is an hour and a half.
