Why ATI should go back to the Teamsters
The ALPA MEC has sold you out. If you want an industry (ACMI) leading contract like Kallita. Teamsters 1224 is an obvious choice. Switch unions and you'll get your own Exco and a seat at the table.

But yes ATI, you all are going to have to make a choice soon and I would say it's pretty obvious. 1224. And let me add and get it out of the way now. No one and I mean, NO ONE, wants to take home basing away from you.
These 2 groups are going to be one come hell or high water. Your MEC is not doing you any favors. I'll gladly lose some seniority for these groups to be one company. (Well not "gladly" but a merger is a merger and it's gonna be best if we are together.)
P.S. Is there more than 2 ATI guys here? I've only ever read stuff from maybe 2 or 3.

Obsessed is a strong word, but to answer the question with a question. How good do you think it is to have two companies under the same parent, one making less than the other and being whipsawed against eachother?
It's really not rocket science. So I'll assume that your a smart guy, and know exactly why there is an issue here that needs to be addressed. Therefore making your question one of irrelevance. You know exactly why things are playing out the way they are.

Jason,
you seem like a nice guy and I understand you're concerned about your position as a new hire as Kougarok is concerned over his position as a new Captain. We ATI pilots are working to improve our position in the current market and I believe we'll have a new TA within the next two months. If they only offer a 20% pay raise it'll be considered a slap in the face and it'll be overwhelming rejected. Our last contract was negotiated when we were downsizing due to a significant loss of business and I don't think its fair to assume we're a scumbag airline because of that. We've never meant any ill will towards the ABX pilots, but I can't say the opposite is true- they've wanted us to go away since the day we were acquired by ATSG. I will say they've generous enough to offer to allow our 150 or so pilots the opportunity to operate 3 combis- do you think the company won't have a problem with 25 crews per airplane?
Good luck to you. I hope you have you're apps in with the majors, you'll be better off there.

I won't elaborate on here but your union tried to undercut the jobs of 1224 pilots at the time you were acquired.
Yes, certainly an emotional bunch.

Really....This topic. I don't always agree with l8fr8, but this time around it's hard not to. I just don't see the need for this thread at all; or at least not at this time.
They (ATI) are doing their thing. Hard to throw them under the bus unless you've seen a TA indicating something less that what they (and the industry) deserve. Sure, I'd like for them to join 1224 again, single carrier or not, and in the past I haven't been an advocate of an ISL. It's been hashed out pretty well by now that its not going to happen at this time. A bad TA presented to the group may very well change some minds, but for now...let's see what they come up with. It did everyone good to see how K4 did, wouldn't hurt to see if Atlas or ATI gets anywhere.
