ATSG radio etiquette

Some of you guys need to lighten up on calling ATI pilots scabs over the radio. Crossing the ABX line was a personal choice some did it some didn't.

Problem is this is heard by all on ctr freq and leads to other airlines associating the whole group as scabs which is not the case.

Rumor is there gonna be another strike once we all get to CVG. We'll see how that plays out.

I've never heard anyone of us do that. If this really happened then it's not from a lot of us.

I call BS.

Kougarok 03-21-2017 11:27 AM

Wow that's pretty unprofessional. But the way your MEC handled the strike was unprofessional too.

I am at a point now that even though we have jump seats back on ATI I won't ride with them. Even when it's more convenient for me.

Unfortunately there are several issues at point here. With many carriers flying for the great DHL, it can be hard to say for sure that any issues are truly from an ABX pilot and not someone else. Given that it may be, there are folks who aren't going to change their mind about past issues...that's on both sides. If possible you need to identify the flight number/date/etc and take it thru union channels (professional standards); I know this may not be possible.

Should it be an ABX pilot, then it is in bad taste and reflects on the group as a whole. Hopefully others on the forum will read your post and with 2 pilot flight decks it may be avoided.

Rumors of another work action...welcome to APC, it's a forum full of everything but the truth till it becomes the past.

Just to verify: who is he alleging is calling ATI pilots scabs? I think the list of those who would utter such statements is too broad to narrow down to just one pilot group. A lot of us were betrayed on that day!

I have zero tolerance for this BS. Your feelings on the subject are understandable but if you don't possess the fortitude to call a pilot out in person but instead hide behind the anonymity of a microphone I have no respect for you either. On a related note, the rest of us use the radio for our jobs and your childish insults, animal noises, and constant "guard" calls are not worthy of professionals. Certain people in our industry spend about 80% of their time whining about how they are not treated like the professionals we are and then promptly hop in the cockpit and prove to management that we are the children that they think we are. Take your differences outside the airport like big girls and boys and let the rest of us get on with our jobs and improving the quality of life and compensation for all of us in the coming years.

Some of you will now flame on me for the next five pages of this thread. Go ahead, I won't be responding. But if you would like we can talk about it in person.

Haven't heard it on the radio but watched it on the crewbus. That's what sick time is for. If your a scab then you deserve to get called out.

I know not everyone from ATI was involved but I hope they don't show up for my Jumpseat they'll be left in the building.

Since you are Kalitta, maybe you could pass on to us at ATI when the next ABX strike is, so we can plan to be off for vacation, etc.

I forgot you work at such a sleezebag operation you can't call out sick. If you can't stand in solidarity with your coworkers you deserve to be blackballed by your peers.
