UPS hiring update
From UPS HR:
We have hired 26 in February, 31 in March.
Our pilot application window is currently closed. As soon as it is
opened again we will communicate that via our Pilot Hiring Hotline 1-800-241-2357.
Aircraft Orders: We will receive (10) MD-11's in 2007, we will receive (10) new Boeing 747-400's in the next 18 months, and we just announced an order for an additional (27) B-767's to be entered in to service beginning in 2009.
We are actively recruiting for positions as Ground Training Instructors, Aircraft Performance Engineering, MD-11 Ground Training, and Flight Simulator Engineering. All these positions are posted on www.upsjobs.com under the "professional" job category.
We have 3/8, 3/22, and 4/4 class dates planned. They are all planned for MD-11 Anchorage, MD-11 SDF, B-757 SDF, ONT, and Z.

Does anyone know why we have 150 capts in ONT and only 122 FOs? Is that the norm or do they normally have the same amount of capts as FOs in ONT? I know it's probably anyone's guess but anyone have any ideas?

Since Louisville is the only one with a choice, which airplane would you pick/why? Assume you have zero seniority/on reserve. I will be the junior guy on any fleet, so I might as well request the one which will be the most fun. Please no flame. Thank you.

Thanks Freight Dog
Freight Dog...thanks for the info. I applied on 11/16/2006 and then again on 1/17/2007, got the call for an interview on 2 Feb, interviewed on 9 Feb, and got the congrats letter a week later (dated 13 Feb). It sounds like the pool still sits at apx 60 and the average time swimming is a month or two. I live in Alaska, so I hope I get a chance at one of the seemingly abundant MD-11 ANC seats. Has anyone been called yet for the 3/22 or 4/4 classes?
