FDX Crew Pay Forms

Do we still have to fill out crew pay forms for disruption? I thought I remember something about it being automatic now.

The new contract layout on the FDX webpage makes it nice to look things up but hard to search. I particularly like the little grievance scales.

i just had that happen and it was not auto...i filled out the request form for EDP and disruption and a few days later it was there...

EDP will not kick in until after the pairing is compete and the number of duty periods is tallied up against the original pairing, in case a duty period goes away later in the pairing, I guess. But I seem to remember all of my EDP pay kicking in automatically.

Mid Trip DH

Just had a mid-trip DH go for 9 hours instead of the scheduled 4. The trip was several days ago and the 'actual' time has not been updated. I am new at this so wanted to ask if that requires a pay log?

Thanks

Deadhead actual times are not usually updated. If the actual will affect your pay, you should contact control center scheduling to have them update the times on the pairing. It's helpful if you have the actual times when you make the call. (Remember, it's the times the pilots of Airline X reports as Out and In, not the times on your wristwatch -- consult the airline's website for the times they report as actual Departure/Arrival times.)

When in doubt, fill a report out.

Actually, this is a good place to recommend to all that we keep our calendars accessible (by not locking them.) If you do this, and are not sure if you've earned extra pay on a trip, after trying to figure it out using the contract, you can call the union (contract enforcement) and ask them to review your pairing to see if you've earned additional pay. If you've got your calendar locked, they can't see it.

Good advice from Tony. Especially important are backend deadheads (for those not deviating.) Since they are typically on TAFB pay pairings, every 4 minutes the DH is delayed, you earn another minute of pay, so if it's a significantly late arrival, call scheduling and let them know about it. As I live in MEM, when I do that, my deviating crew gets the extra pay, too.

Pardon my lack of experience here...I took the scheduled DH and missed my connecting flight (last one of the day) back to MEM due to ATC delays. I called crew scheduling, who booked me a room, call for the car service and confirmed me on the first flight out next morning. The pairing was adjusted on VIPS...do I need to fill out more paperwork? Based on the comments from Tony and others I think probably not. Confirm?

Denny,

As stated earlier it is best not to take these things for granted. If in doubt you must submit. LOL

Generally, Skeds will only modify your pairing and the deviating crew only get what was regularily scheduled :( They use the "You are deviating and on your own" excuse.
