Amazon job fair

Had an ex roommate attend one of the amazon job fairs. Basically starts at min wage and adjusted for region up to around 12 bucks an hour. Some benefits start first day.

Interestingly, anything outside the warehouse involved moving of product is being held as an IC (independent contractor) job. He has lots of ramp, service, logistic experience for airlines and when asked about a possible prime air positions they said that is and will be subbed out for the foreseeable future. She did know enough to point him to ATSG/ATLAS/Pinnacle. Obviously the question had been previously asked.

Hey Red Face Bucky! You may want to check into this since youre about to crash and airline !

As we've been saying ....Amazon is the McDonalds of the shipping industry....done on the cheap, on the backs of the workers. Sounds like our CEO and new management staff.

So the 20 something conducting job fair interviews for warehouse workers is in on Amazon's master plans and is sharing them with random passerbys. Thanks for the solid info, and thanks even more for starting a new thread with it :p

Does the job fair have openings for the airline?

Really? Did you really ask that.....

Um yeah, they did have Cheif/VP's of HR at the fairs.. their COO was at the Seattle Fair. Actually lots of interest in the airside operations thats why he went. It and prime air made local news in my home town.

Might surprise you but a substantial amount of Amazon's upper managment is under 40. Prob a LOT of twenty somethings making more than you or I ever have or will.. Not all are snowflakes.

Not disputing any of that, but if you think your buddy got insight into Amazon's air freight plans at a job fair via small talk... Well, think whatever you want I guess. How would you define 'for the foreseeable future' anyways?
