Not trolling. I just recently joined this site and have tried to remain silent on many things here but I’m tired of hearing people speak negative about Atlas. Works for some and not for others. I’ve been on several 3-4 man crew flights and not once I’ve been denied a leg because I was the junior guy. I don’t enjoy deadheading around the world, I’d rather operate a trip but when I have to do it, I’m glad it’s in Business it better.
Guess I’m just bitter from all the “Senior” guys telling me that I should have my apps out elsewhere and leave as soon as possible! These are the same guys that would not leave Atlas if UPS or FedEx would call them to offer them a class date. The mentality of the more people that leave Atlas will speed up the process with negotiations, has just rubbed me the wrong way. They (Senior guys) are NOT concerned about my future, they are concerned of their own future and expediting the negotiation process no matter how many of us junior guys are sacrificed.

I love my job.
But I resent the games played by my employer that force us into these counter productive activities.
I think you're missing one part of the equation. You have the first part (attrition is just one choke point on the operation). And you have the last part (the senior guys are hoping for max leverage so they don't have to sacrifice 15-20 years of seniority and start all over again in their 50s. Who can blame them for that?).
The part you're missing is the cynical implication that the senior guys really DOUBT our ability to secure a competitive CBA and THEREFORE do care about your career by essentially saying: "It's too late for me; SAVE YOURSELF." Care to guess why they're so old and cynical?
So it's really a question of faith. Because if you do the math, the numbers do no lie. Over 30 years you will do much better at any Legacy, UPS and FedEx. To say otherwise is the same as gambling, because you're putting your money on the dark horse.
Yes, there's a one in a million chance your gamble pays off. But given what we know right now, there is literally no comparison to a Legacy career vs. the same time spent at Atlas.
Good luck.

Be careful what you wish for...
UPS is not FEDEX: Fedex has a history of buying and assimilating other airlines. In fact, Fred Smith once compared his merger mentality as assimilation like Peter the Great's where UPS is more scorched earth, plunder, and pillage Ghengis Khan's. Just ask the many pilots who flew for airlines that UPS acquired: Challenge Air Cargo, Orion, etc. Not only did they not get a seniority, they didn't even get interviews when UPS was hiring other pilots. It was the kiss of death to be a pilot at an airline that UPS acquired, much like it was for an American Eagle pilot who wanted to fly with American back in the day. Many of these pilots were even told to keep flying and even had a printed future seniority list with their name on it.. ''Keep flying and we'll get you on soon''. When the music stopped, no UPS job. There was a huge class action lawsuit that UPS finally settled with six figure settlements, better than nothing but a drop in the bucket compared to what could have been if UPS had lived up to their promises.
Be careful what you wish for. Given UPS's past history, you'd have a better chance applying from the street.
