Kalitta vs. Omni

Kalitta vs. Omni
Have CJOs from both Carriers. Class date from K4 with no fleet assignment as of yet. No class date from Omni as of yet. Been riding in the back of Omni being former military, but other than that no other clues. All I have read is doom and gloom on both sides on APC.

If you’re former mil jet jock you may need some straight and level time in a heavy jet.
My advice is worth what you paid for it.

Look at management teams (and understand where Omni fits under the ATSG umbrella).
Look at maintenance/accident records.
Look at union representation.
Look at basing/commuting.
You could also look at pay/benefits but frankly why bother? If you're former military (college educated) you should have your apps out to all the Legacies and either of these jobs will just be a place holder until you get your "forever" job.
Then add up the plusses/minuses and make your decision.
Pro tip: Just because Omni or Kalitta worked out great for one of your buddies doens't mean it's a great choice for you.

At least one of those carriers has a recent history of hiring classes of 10-12, with 2 or 3 showing up, and in at least one case, none making it through training. Further, the same company has a relatively recent history of letting the class get through a couple of months of training, then effectively furloughing them three hours before their type ride, and another class being kicked down the road just before their class date. If you've given up your job and put your eggs in the new basket, that might hurt, especially if you've been strung along on a training wage at a hotel with gunfights across the parking lot.
Of course, at the other company, it's not unheard of to have the catalytic converter cut out of your rental car in the hotel parking lot, so go figure.

Exactly on point! Just from my unit alone we had somewhere around 15 of my friends at Atlas over a decade ago (10 hired within a two year period). Now, 7 remain and those who departed found their priorities at the Majors/Brown/Purple specifically. As I tell all my friends at Brown/Purple "we hook'm, clean'm up and fry'm to be served elsewhere!" if they so choose! We all appear to have found our niche which is the best endgame anyone could have. Eye of the beholder, it's Your Life!
