Polar Air

Does anyone know about the hiring process at Polar? Do they do it on their own or is it associated with Atlas? I also can't seem to find out much about them ie; bases, pay, interview gouge, etc. Any help?

Polar flown by Atlas pilots. There are only two Polar pilots, the DO and the Chief Pilot.

Correction: Polar is flown by......

The time out on edits drives me nuts. Of course it would help if my brain saw what was on the page instead of what it wants to be on the page, but it is what it is.

Of course, if you want to fly for Polar. You could always just go to Kalitta! They are doing a lot of that flying now. (At higher pay I might add!)

Hey 742Dash Your post was a little cryptic. You said Correction: Polar is flown by..... and then nothing else. What do you know about the hiring process?
Thanks

China,
To clarify/add to Dash. Polar IS Atlas. You interview and get hired by Atlas. Flying the line, on any given day you could fly a Polar plane or an Atlas plane. This applies to both 747 and 767.

Dash added the "is" to ward off the grammar police. Polar exists because it has landing rights in Japan that the Japanese government says will not transfer to another carrier. Those rights are so valuable that AAWH keeps a Polar Chief Pilot, DO, DM, DS and Chief Inspector on staff and maintains a set of Polar manuals to keep the certificate alive.

There's my answer. Thank you sir!

You may also be thinking of Kalitta, since they fly for Polar now as well.
