My company has guys leaving for AA and there’s not a single one of us that’d see a job at K4 as anything but a step backwards. “Hey honey - I just quit my three on/four off gig to be gone for 17 straight!” Riiiiiiight.
Yep, a commuter going in a day early on his own dime. I find your attitude poor and your opinion not legitimate simply because you haven't worked at Kalitta. You only know one thing, so in your world, that's all you know. What if I told you that the 16 or 17 days straight is far superior to 3-4 on for a commuter? Not to mention boxes are superior to pax...

The AA makes more money and is home more to take care of the wife's needs.
I got news for you most women are not going 17 days without the D. So a K4 guy makes less and his wife has a pool boy!

If there arrangement of your days off on a monthly basis is the hinge point of whether or not you stay married....then you're in a bad place to begin with. Are you saying ABX has ruined your marriage?

* I'd like to clarify, only speaking about management.

Or...was it his poor decision choice to not go elsewhere and stay and whine daily on a message board?

I would guess that I made way more money than any AA 8 year pilot last year. Will probably do so this year again. Home when I am home, and not the least bit concerned about work or getting to or from work when I am at home......priceless. BTW I get to live where I want to live, not in a crew base for a great QOL.

When I had been at K4 for a few months, I made the statement that many before me had, “why didn’t I come here sooner?” That was before the latest contract😀

Agreed. I wish I had gone to K4 years ago. Still the best decision I've made in aviation.

1) How many 8 yr AA pilots make oodles of premium LCA/ instructor pay ?

2) How many 8 yr AA pilots get invited to Doug Parker's birthday party ?

3) About how many days of open flying on your off days did you have to sacrifice to attain your pay level ?

4) How many gainfully employed AA pilots have their apps in at K4 ?

Slowly putting thread back on track...…..
