Atlas QOL Questions

Atlas guys:

1. How difficult is it commuting to STN from the US West Coast?

2. How many days off does the average person get?

3. How junior is the bottom US based person?

4. How long are your trips?

5. What is the best/worst thing about flying for Atlas?

6. I see that you "owe" 17 days of work, does any one get more time off?

Thanks

I left there a few years ago, but I'll give my experiences:

1. Very challenging, especially in summertime. You can try to fly directly to the city your pattern starts out of (AMS for example), but if you're operating out of someplace like Gottenborg (sp?) you'll have to work out something else. Main point: You end up losing a lot of your free time doing a trans-atlantic commute.

2. I'd say I averaged about 10 days off...subtract a couple of days for the commute from that.

3. No idea

4. My longest trip was 30+ days, after which I quit. Shortest was around 5 as I recall.

5. Probably some of the best/most varied flying you'll do in your career. Hotels as a rule are all pretty top notch. The only thing I didn't like about Atlas was the schedule; not compatable with my lifestyle.

6. Not sure.

Thank you for your info.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I've flown into Stansted many times, we layover in Cambridge ... Cambridge is a quaint little village. It looks like it would be a very nice place to live, especially if you were based at STN.

You'll be stopping in Dover, DE a lot. Evergreen & Atlas really help out around here.
