Current regional CRJ Captain...would like some relevant info on the FedEx feeder ops in the PNW, FedEx is the ultimate goal.
Street CA and easy commute to work (live in GEG) with similar pay ($90/hr.) would pique my interest. Is the purple runway even a legit program that actually gets guys in at FedEx or more of a ploy to keep guys at the feeder? Also never flown freight, but I like the mission, a lot. Recently attended the FedEx pilot expo in Pensacola and could not be more impressed (yes I realize this is not FedEx Express). Thanks in advance for any useful info... |
How likely would it be to get hired for the TUL base? I’m currently a regional CA and have ATR experience.

You could easily hold TUL as a Captain or FO right now.

Thanks. What do the schedules look like out of TUL?

The books of the ancients tell of The One who desires to live in Tulsa. Yay, so it was written. We have found him! Hallelujah! Hossanah!

Stay at your regional and keep applying to FedEx. The flow program is not really a flow and would take forever to get an interview. Plus you'll not make the same money and probably won't be in geg.

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster on this forum. Am a regional FO with almost 2100TT and am scheduled for an interview in a few days. Can someone share sample schedules at Ohana? How many legs do you fly during the day on average? I’ve lived in Honolulu before for years as I was Navy so I’m familiar with the cost of living. Is the QOL worth the move back? Is the guaranteed interview to Hawaiian even worth applying to or is it better to just apply off the street? Also, how many days can a junior FO expect to get off?

they each have show times about an hour apart. they are all 6 legs per schedule with the exception of an occasional 8 leg morning. there is no guarantee interview at Hawaiian. if you are accepted into the flow program, then yes. is there still a guarantee after two years, I am not sure. All lines are pretty much the same, they're are no lines dedicated to Reserve. you will be scheduled for about 18 days of duty, and of those 18 days you may only have 10 flying days. so about 30 hours per month average. can you trip trade and fly more, yes. also trade with others for days off. |

typical schedules are ether AM or PM, both have two aircraft operating. One is dedicated to JHM and the other Lanai and Molokai with some variation.
