Yes. GEG and AFW are the only bases where you will travel. All the rest of the bases you won’t travel somewhere else unless you request to. Sometimes you’ll need a break from the monotony of the same route. Anyway, great place to work!

Interested in any information about the 208 and PDX base. I'm a soon to be former regional CA (furlough) looking for something to keep on flying. Particularly interested in PDX runs, schedule, QOL, and training for the 208. It's also mentioned on a previous page that there is no training contract, is that still true? Thanks!

Default Home Basing

Hi. I have been watching the web and see they are still looking for Home Based pilots. It is me or are there a lot of restrictions? The ad on the Orange Site makes it sound terrible but careful how you read into things. I am pretty sure you will never get Xmas off. There is lots of wording about the pay too which is a bit unclear.

Do home based pilots get sent to Hawaii, although right now that does not seem likely. I have flown large turboprops before just not the ATR. It seems like a nice aircraft.

Thanks for any info/help.

Hi guys,

Is Empire still hiring? Don’t see any jobs on their career site.

Looking at last weeks internal job postings, it looks like all Flight Operations positions are full.

Have a question regarding the Purple pathway and empire airlines. For completion it says 3 years commitment with the company, understandable. But then it also mentions 500 Multi PIC turbine. If you start off in a 208 caravan, when does one start to fly a multi? Trying to understand and put together a timeline. From what I can gather,

After 2 years as Caravan Captain, transition to ATR FO.
From there, how long does it take as FO to upgrade to Captain. (500 crew time and 1000 MEL) So 2 years?
And then once Captain, how long to get the 500 required for the Purple Pathway.

So is the total time frame like 5+ years?

There are alot of factors that can play into the senero, where are you based, what routes you are on, are you willing to accept additional flying. Then you need to factor in that the 408's are coming to the feeder network, so that will change how you can get your MEL hours.

If you start with the min hours for a CVN, then yes it could be 5+ yrs.

I have ATP mins, just haven't gotten my ATP yet. I don't know if with covid, whether the scenario below is even possible.

Option A: 18-24 Months as Caravan PIC. Switch over to ATR FO. 2 years as ATR FO then another 2 years to get minimums as Captain for the Purple Runway. Looking at 5-6 years before majors.

Option B: Wait and see if the Multi Turbine Cargo operators are hiring. Fly 2-3 years PIC solo in a multi turboprop for the 1000 hours PIC and then apply to majors. But don't know if you can even get in with a major with only 1000 PIC.
