Dynamic Airways

Yesterday Dynamic Airways asked the DOT for permission to crank up 10 B-767s immediately for charter work. They have acquired the rights to use the name "Eastern Air Lines" from Swift Air. Should be interesting. Will need lots of pilots real fast.

How is a place that pays 36k for FOs to start still is business?

There’s plenty of pilots out there that would do it for a 75/76 type rating

And because they were told that’s all they could get from the company. And they believed it.

Braniff DC8 03-13-2018 08:27 AM

I just don’t get it

These airlines keep, somehow, staying in business. Dynamic is the worst company ever with a reputation from hell. It’s operations to South America were legendary. The Eastern certificate was handed back in and Dynamic was all but dead and now this. Why would the DOT approve of such an abhorent idea? Where is the FAA as well? Do they all not know what goes on at that place.

The word has been out for a long time now about these two operations and how bad they truly are. Why and how do they stay in operation.

dynap09 03-13-2018 09:16 AM

And with 10 767's? That's not a small operation! Totally crazy. Be interesting to know who customers might be. And I really would hope they get a close look by FAA unless someone puts a lot of $ in to capitalize things and make sure safety story is there.

Just ask the ATI pilots. They’ll probably do it for that much if it includes a Dynamic bag tag and a shiny new paint job.
And homebasing of course. They’ll do anything for homebasing.

CallmeJB 03-13-2018 11:42 AM

Are we sure this is cargo? Wouldn't surprise me to see Dynamic chasing NFL contracts for next season.

This ^^^
When you’re in this industry long enough you loose all respect for DOT/FAA.
Deaf, dumb and blind.
No offense to the deaf, dumb and blind.

True dat about the FAA. Every Florida FSDO has an institutional scam or graft scheme. Designated Pilot Examiners north of Miami and south of Jax come to mind. A few do EXACTLY 2.5 exams per day. Two pass, one fails, the retest the next day counts as a half exam for their quota. Cash payment only...

+1 to confirm this scam.

It drives me crazy how this have been going on for years

l8fr82hub 03-13-2018 03:50 PM

Apparently Dynamic is dry leasing 10 767-200 freighters from CAM to service a contract for a yet unnamed North American freight carrier

BlueSkies88 03-13-2018 03:56 PM

Lol

They (CAM) will take them from ABX, go get that high margin lease and maintenance contract with Dynamic. ABX will furlough and their pilots will end up at ATI (longevity for pay). Dynamic will default on payment. Meek will inherit the Earth, women rule the world.

Nope1000 03-13-2018 06:26 PM

Abx pilots won’t get longevity for pay or vacation. 1224 refuses to fight that injustice, it’s been grieved and ignored, it wasn’t important. Go ask any Abx pilot at ATI. They got purged for new hires.

Yes they do. JH pays the difference between the pay at ATI and the pay at ABX.
That’s only for two years though.

I am afraid that’s completely incorrect. You are unfortunately misinformed.
Ask any Abx retread that touched ATI.

Agree totally about the FAA; lowest of the low. But at some point the DOT has to actually oversee the FAA... seems that's not happening.

Ludicrous Speed 03-13-2018 10:08 PM

hmmm, 10 767’s? Could they be talking to Amazon? Will they be another carrier to add whipsaw leverage to keep pay and work rules down?

Is Pinkslip Pinkston still alive and doing it?

Hmm, could this whole thread be fake news ? Why is it I type in "Dynamic Airways seeks permission to operate 10 B767s" into search engine, and keep coming up with wiki link, the engine fire at KFLL, and a summer 2017 story of 1 of Dynamic's creditors seeking liquidation of Dynamic Airways ?

Given that they also acquired the right to use the Eastern airlines name, I doubt it. I don't thin dynamic has the demonstrated stability that Amazon would want in it contractors. Joke about atlas and atsg if you want, but they've been around a long time and aren't constantly opening and closing their doors.

And it can only get better with Trump's personal pilot as the head of the Agency.

He loves to save Il Duce’ money. Before the pax arrive at the jet, he’s on his hands and knees wearing a shammy glove wiping down the wood work... not that wood work the cabinet wood work. Any way he’ll probably do same the office if he gets the job. $$$$ savings for the taxpayers.

No, I found it, but not through Google (i.e. there is no news release). It says it has potential contracts to operate 8 passenger and 2 cargo aircraft. The owner will donate all of the aircraft to the airline.

That’s not true. The grievance is awaiting arbitration.

Formerbuspilot 03-15-2018 05:39 AM

There are a few articles starting to trickle out now regarding Dynamic Int....

Abx will get a new contract and that grievance will die.

ABX will get a new contract??? Do you know something no one else knows?

And the grievances don’t go away as a result of a new CBA. That’s all negotiable.

Historically they all evaporated at signing
