Sure they got beat up , sure they were stupid and surely they paid the price. This time though , they`ve likely got big brother ( Amazon ) coming to the playground , and in this scrap , nothing Fred Smith and the like can say or do will stop the inevitable domestic competition that will be achieved with an Amazon - DHL partnership. Can you imagine Amazon doing a full sort using FedEx`s Memphis facilities without something in return ? Exactly. Quid pro quo. Better watch out Purple and Brown or you might end up with a bloody nose , crying all the way home to Mommy ( Congress ). Competition will be great for the US consumer and therein lies the key. Lower prices for all.
