Is it insider trading if you start shorting these stocks based on knowledge of pilot shortage?

Schedule: 17 days a month, so 13 or 14 off depending on the month. Until you are junior manned...except for vacation, they can and will junior man you on any day. They don’t care about your child’s wedding or any other family event. So you have to call off fatigued, or if you’re home you never ever answer your phone.

Pay: About $52/hour first year, and it nearly doubles second year. 68 hour guarantee. Don’t expect to break guarantee except for junior man pay.

Base: CVG

Paid Out of Pocket: hotel while in training, and let me tell you...there’s not much in the bustling metropolis of Wilmington, OH.

Hotels/Per Diem: Hotels are generally good. Domestic per diem is $52/day and international (not including Canada and Mexico) is $79.75/day.

We are in very contentious contract negotiations with no end in sight. The company has made no movement at all since our current president came on property a little over a year ago. Do what you want, but this place is a mess right now.

Hope this helps.
Thank you for your response I was looking for honest opinions

And if FedEx decides to just go ahead and allow Amazon to buy them. This place is a smoking hole. All the pilots will be employed in less than a week mean while shareholders
will be like wtf just happened!

You have to understand the situation. This is an airline that went from 800 pilots to less than 200 and didn't hire in any significant numbers for many years. You've got the people who were hired in the mid-90s, then a few more recent than that, and then hiring started again in 2016.

Before it all fell apart, between the expected retirements and growth, upgrades were looking like three years or so.

Jr Mann the norm
Restricts trades
Pays $100 for 2 weeks of online rgt
Can't agree to industry standard EFB LOA
Won't give pilots a new respectable contract
No growth plans
Sister carrier that crossed picket line and then Accepted industry worst contract
25 year upgrade
Email bids
Email open time trade requests that get denied
17 days of work in a row
Forced to work on your days off
Still think abx is a good idea?

Omni's payrates are very high in their new contract. May be worth a look to see if you can get an interview there...
Kalitta and Omni are probably the two best in ACMI right now...

They force you to work overtime and then refuse to pay you for it. Almost every single time I’ve had OT I’ve had to file a grievance. I have yet to lose a grievance. But it’s total bs that you have to wait months to get paid for work they force you to do.

Do not come here unless you’re at a worse place.

I don't know how there can be a worse place. Shrinking airline with constant threat of furlough directly from the president of the company's mouth. Can't even build heavy time at any decent rate as there's not much flying. Reserve is indefinite and upgrade is nonexistent. But at least you'll get to eat grungy cafeteria food when you do 17 hot reserve days in a row.
