Say goodbye to Simultaneous 18L/C and 27 operations at MEM
I found the following FAA document posted on The Main Bang. It appears that MEM has been operating with an illegal operation/procedure for many years. I can't wait to see how the FAA handles this situation. Any predictions?

I saw that posted on another forum and asked this question:
How does that affect simultaneous 18L, 18R, and 27 operations? We don't normally use 18L, 18C, and 27. I've often wondered how we might handle a rejected landing or go-around from Rwy 27 when an airplane was on short final to 18L. . |

Oh don't worry GOC will add on plenty of extra gas. So now in an MD-11 or DC-10 you can have a FAT of 19K instead of 18K with NQA still there to help in your hour of need.............

The feeder guys use 27 when we're landing on the 18's...this will make it even worse landing to the south |
Atr Can Do 250 To 3 Mile Final While You Guys Are At Ref 15 Miles Out.

No props
That may be true but we can only go as fast as they let us, and only being able to slow 10 knots per mile unless you throw the boards out doesn't help either. I am sure the MD's and Airbus are worse. Having flat prop blades out there to slow you down are obviously more effective. When you cram 100+ flights into Mempho in a two hour period kinda tends to jam stuff up. Maybe the ATR is the reason we are having to slow from .86 to 250 100 miles out of MEM... :p
