ABX now on RMP by FAA

I've heard that now as the ABX VP sends out a letter to attempt to negotiate with the pilots that the President of ABX gets his own letter from the FAA. It's a letter letting him know that ABX is now under RMP by the FAA. I'd like to see a copy of the letter as well.
Time to check with the FOIA...

nitefr8dog 06-14-2018 06:20 AM

That message was a bit vague...

An RMP is used when the certificate holder knowingly or unknowingly accepts, or even generates, an undesirable level of risk, and the PI takes action to ensure that the certificate holder is effectively managing these risks in their operation...

Yea I don’t think those two items are related. I did hear the same rumor though.

Both items are interesting in their own way but I don’t think they’re related either. My how far we’ve fallen....

They aren’t related. It’s just ironic that management negotiating NOT in good faith and all the sudden the FAA is sending them letters. I call it Karma. How long will the ATSG board allow someone to drive ABX into the dirt?

motorclutch 06-14-2018 09:53 AM

It should be evidently clear that the board doesn’t care about the disfunction of ABX. Otherwise why would they have approved the stock offering for Soaps in December

motorclutch 06-15-2018 08:34 AM

Since the ATSG board of directors appointed Soapy to pres of ABX Air the following results have occurred:
1. FAA RMP status assigned
2. 20% of crewforce resigned or retired
3. Multiple cities have been lost
4. Stalled negotiations
You can’t make this stuff up. The incompetence is amazing.

Hope the facts aren’t too toxic for ATSG board members who follow APC.

Lost business...no prospects on the horizion...a non existent sales force from former express operation that does not want nor knows how to find ACMI work...IMHO

What does Soaper do? From where I sit, it looks like Boja and Maloney does all the work, and Hete makes all the decisions.

I want that kind of job.

So far? Absolutely nothing positive that generates money. Not knowing how to properly staff an ACMI carrier has cost ABX untold millions. Both in lost revenue and additional crew costs. Just not having a pilot group that is willing to "dig in" and help when the wheels are coming off because he has lost all of their respect can get expensive. There was a day when most ABX pilots would bend over backwards in a pinch to help.....now most listen to the message on the machine and just laugh. That comes from an internal attitude to treat your employees like dogs then hope they will help you in tough times...they are suprized when they get bitten. Unbelievable. Most companies figure it out...not here. It's always been plan for the best then scramble and threaten have discipline meetings, put letters in your file during the worst. It just does not work.I once asked the previous head of crew scheduling why 1 trip with 4 legs and a 10 hr layover was scheduled 4 days in a row back to back.....his answer...its computer generated. It changed when the crews called in fatigued every other day 2 weeks in a row. They just don't get it!.

But it’s been a booming business turning houses for Soaps and Briner. You come to work, attend the morning meeting and act like you know what’s going on. Then retire to your company provided office and phone.....that’s when the real work begins: flipping houses. No accountability to JH! Guess what. Accountability is around the corner.
We are only in the second quarter.....fun begins very soon.

Is the FAA aware pilots are being required to do nearly all ground school online and when it's done during work hours it affects rest? Looks like pilot will have to reset their rest clocks. So they get A Prime opportunity to sleep!

Not sure what your point is here. If you are doing online GS while at "work" or during a "duty period" you are "on the clock" and not in a rest period.
You would not reset your rest clock until released from duty.

You're correct there will be alot of Amazon Prime air flights leave late! Because pilots will have to get rest after doing the ground school on the overnight.
