They approached him in the beginning. Due to the operational control aspect of the deal he said no. Unless that changes or he creates another division that AMZ could buy a stake in, there will probably never be AMZ.

I can’t say i’d see K4 getting in bed with AMZ. Everything everywhere says he wants to control the direction of his airline. Getting in with AMZ has not been a real benefit to any of the pilot groups involved. I don’t think it is just ATSG and AAWH trying to stall/ bust pilot contracts. Personally i’m Looking forward to the diversity of flying at K4 and not just focusing on two customers. One of which that wants the freedom to cut off a contractor at will. Just my two cents.

Whats the most pay credit you have ever been able to pull off in one month? Is hazardous flying or OT the key? Just interested how much credit and number of days worked.

DISCLAIMER: I know this has no bearing on future months and each situation is unique. Always plan on guarantee pay.

That is so varied depending on what drives you. Some spend their time on the phone with CS negotiating their next trip(s). I have FO's that regulary turn in 150 pay hours, and CA's also for their 16 days out. Then there are some that either they want it that way or they get lost in the cracks by CS get min or not much higher. Currently, and for the forseeable future there is a lot of extra flying to be had, whether on regular time or OT due to our staffing levels and the inefficiency that CS work to achieve.

There is some MIL flying to the areas we consider hazardous which pays 6 hours above guarantee per trip but not like there has been in the past. OT as I said is abound if you want the extra days out.

I have mentioned before that if you are planning on coming to K4 plan your life and budget on 64 hours guarantee and basically ~$1000 per month PD, anything over this is gravy money. Yes we have some that complain that unless they do 80 hours a month pay credit they are in the hole - bad financial planning IMHO.

I averaged about 93 hours pay per month for 2018.
No days off, 12 year captain pay.

My best is around 115.
Heard of some getting 200.
The guy that grossed over 600k, makes you wonder.

It’s important to mention that these numbers are only applicable to the 747. The 767 only flies min guarantee.

Training

“K4 has applied to the FAA to go to the next level of aircraft expansion. This will require a commitment from the company in the form of more management and support personnel. They are making that commitment.

...

There are also openings at this time in the training department. Recently that has become a lucrative way to go.”

Maxjet ... quoted from the Atlas thread ... that application to the FAA is hopeful for the long-term continuity of K4.

I am trying to join you guys. Gave a scan of the Kalitta web site and didn’t see any pilot training openings ... are those internal only?
