Kalitta Air (K4) Information

I apologize in advance if this is covered elsewhere on the forum. How does the 767 schedule look? Especially for a guy living in CVG? I know you don't necessarily get to "choose" your aircraft type upon being hired, but from what I understand they ask what you preference.
Basically, if there isn't really an advantage to living in CVG on the 767 (maybe more time at home) then I would try to go for the 747 (more money) Thanks!

That is pending any schedule or customer changes on the 76. I don't have a crystal ball unfortunately.

You will make more money on the 74, but if your goal is to be home more and you move to CVG, the 76 would work out great. You'd cut down your overnights to probably 8 a month instead of 16.

Thanks for the response. I know there is a TON of information in this thread and it's super helpful! I don't have much to complain about with the regionals these days since they're trying hard to continuously attract new candidates and stay competitive; however, not commuting and going to work once a month speaks numbers.

The seven six is not a bad gig at all, especially since you live in CVG. As mentioned before, you'll get a lot more nights at home (at least with the current schedule). However, most 767 pilots aren't going much over guarantee right now since all trips are CVG hub flying for DHL. In the near future (probably around February), the 767 will be ETOPS-certified, and I'm sure Connie didn't authorize that just to add an extra few pages to the OpSpecs. Wouldn't be surprised to see trips routinely going to Europe and elsewhere. However, we will still continue flying domestic DHL and (presumably) adding airframes as long as feedstock keeps up.

Luggage
What size bags do most guys use? Are large roller board style bags good enough or would you probably need a second bag? Does the company allow checking more than one bag when traveling commercially to and from your home airport?
Thanks
Thanks

Most guys use a 22” luggage works, or something like that. Just get something that you can pack for 10 days in. You can do laundry on the road. As for checking multiples, go for it. It’s even better when travel cheaps out on the ticket.
