Not at first. I applied and about three weeks later I got an email saying I was in the second round for review. I then found out after more inquiries that I knew a couple people but I don’t know if it played a part into me being called for an interview. It took about 3 months for me from application to interview and hire.

Not really. Filled out application and in about 3 weeks got email saying I was in the next round for review. After more inquiries I did find out I knew a couple people but not sure if that helped me get an interview. The whole process from app to interview and hire was about 3 months.

I was just reviewing my application on the Kalitta web page and noticed an area that asks for "talent or skills" or some verbiage like that (I've already forgotten the exact word used).
Does anybody have an idea what they are looking for there?

Just put something that would be relevant to a flying job. Are you a champion aerobatic pilot? Do you speak relevant languages? Did you do something awesome that would spark a conversation? (Win at Indy, fight off a grizzly bear with your hands, etc). That’s your chance to stand out. Just keep it professional since HR guys read that.
