We do have attrition, and the 777's are replacing 400's on DHL runs supposedly. Wouldn't surprise me to see a hold on 400 initials, but quite possibly into the 767 for people with no previous Boeing type.
However, I must qualify this opinion with, "I have no idea what the plans are in YIP as of right now."

He already interviewed and was offered a class, then it was canceled

I am also on of the October cancelees.
I have not heard a thing either, given the above quote, that email is not a good sign IMHO, but I am not an insider yet... So it is only my point of view.
I was told (email from the company) that after the end of the year they would start the new hire classes, by now I believe if that was the case, simulator slots should have had to be secured and therefore emails should have been sent to confirm who is really onboard to allocate people for indoc and Sim slots...
All of this tells me the some of us may start in February or March if we start.
Again, I have no inside info, and is my own speculation based on what I gather, I have been down this road before.
Thanks A-320 for the update. I will probably call and /or email them after Christmas to see where i stand. Feel free to pm me and i will do the same

From someone who turned down an Oct class date due to it not being two weeks notice and then not going to class until Feb., I know the feeling. Take a deep breath however, the call will come.

I'd say there is a good chance that there won't be a class for the 747 until February.

I’d say even that is generous. Right now they are looking for EXISTING FO’s willing to give up their seats to go 777. Wouldn’t make sense to backfill the 74.

Depends how many leave the 747. Probably much more from the 767.

Sure it would. Couldn't they do initial training easier/cheaper owning the 747 sims? It would be cheaper to have existing pilots do the 777 short course and new hires do 747. At least it makes sense in my head...
