To be fair, the street hire 777 CA's were flying the same birds over at Emirates, well, at least the one I met anyhow. Very nice guy. It's CBA compliant.

It says in the CBA that 270 days after the aircraft enters service the initial cadre will need to bid like all other pilots and can be displaced off that aircraft. When did that date start? Does anyone know?

It entered revenue service on August 2nd. Not sure if that's the marker for the 270 days or not....

Be aware new hires, you may come on as an FO and a guy junior to you may come in with experience on the 777 and fly in the left seat. Not a good thing.
This is a very dark interpretation of the companies reasoning for bringing in experienced Captains as Initial Cadre and to help with IOE.

Strange. Southern’s initial cadre was straight out of the 747 Classic. I’m surprised that with a bunch of very experienced -400 captains that Kalitta management felt the need for street help.

Yeah, they didn’t hire off the street for the 767.

Nothing against the pilots hired off the street, but you risk losing the culture, procedures, and standards you’ve developed over all these years by utilizing street hires who are brand new to the company.
