It says in the CBA that 270 days after the aircraft enters service the initial cadre will need to bid like all other pilots and can be displaced off that aircraft. When did that date start? Does anyone know?

Meanwhile, there are actually 5 or 6 FOs hired in January ‘19 bidding and flying as CAPTAINS on the 777 because of a section in the contract. Supposedly they can use them for 270 from the time the AC goes into service, but there are no restrictions on how many and how long they can keep adding them.
Be aware new hires, you may come on as an FO and a guy junior to you may come in with experience on the 777 and fly in the left seat. Not a good thing.

Strange. Southern’s initial cadre was straight out of the 747 Classic. I’m surprised that with a bunch of very experienced -400 captains that Kalitta management felt the need for street help.
