However, having a letter of rec from some one here and some PIC time time on a RJ will also get you an interview in 2020.
I heard, I believe through a Company email, that previous 777 typed applicants can do a 12 day short course to get up to speed.

I wish I knew how long this will keep up. I know a 747 class started Oct 7th. I bet it's the last one for a bit while they get 777 new hires up to speed.

Who knows how long it will last. As long as there are good Boeing pilots to pick from your competition will be harder. That being said. If you’d rather be stuck at southern than where you are now then go for it. It will help your resume either way. The company hired almost all the US based Norwegian 787 pilots who were interested. They’ve hired JAL guys and now Atlas people. According to the training department there is a stark difference between training RJ guys and people with previous Boeing heavy time. I think they have come to value Boeing and heavy experience quite a bit. There is a lot to learn going from a passenger RJ to a Global cargo operator. If you can have another company close that gap for you the company will save time and money in getting people out on the line.

Send an email to the chief pilots office, let them know you have an application in, they should call you.

I think we've told him that the last 3 times.

What I’ve been hearing is that they have a huge issue getting people consolidated. Also have an issue finding sim time. So getting people already type allows them to do the short course. Been hearing they need 100 777 FOs by next September. So anyone that has a 777 type and has a good attitude should email the Chief pilot.

Just a heads up for those interviewing that I heard there has been a change to the technical portion.
At some point you will be given an iPad or iPhone with an email account open and a mass email message. You will be asked to respond to the sender of the email. If you “reply all” the interview is over and you will be shown the door.

I think this post is underrated for its comedic gold.
