ATI New Chief Pilot

Well it looks like our standards manager MW has decided to leave for a brighter future. He will now be the chief pilot at ATI. Now the crew that crosses the picket line in Miami is officially reunited. You boys at ATI are officially screwed. One big picket line crossing happy family all together. Enjoy.

baldwin 07-25-2018 09:17 AM

Baby v is gonna be mad that he didn’t get the job.

Now Scab Air is finally complete. It’s amazing how ALPA looks the other way and doesn’t complain when pilots that crossed the Amerijet picket line is picked to run one it’s own.

An almost 40 year guy that bleeds Airborne Express goes to ATI, well that should tell you exactly whats going to happen next.

motorclutch 07-27-2018 04:16 PM

Yeah he probably ****ed off Soapy and was close to being fired. The guy that awarded him the standards job after he crossed the picket line, threw him a lifeline and let him join his real brothers at ATI.

It was offered to Capt Boja of ABX several weeks ago and her turned down the offer.

Dont envy the current CP he had to deal with a couple air turn backs last week. Best of luck to him. He will need it as ATI rapidly expands over the next 24mo along with taking on a new aircraft type that ATSG is unfamiliar with.

ATI is/will be a fantastic opportunity for aspiring career pilots to come and join the Amazon Team.

"The Amazon Team"? Give me a ******ing break. Jesus. None of us are on "The Amazon Team". We're contracted help that will be replaced the nanosecond that Bezos figures out how he can.

motorclutch 07-28-2018 07:34 AM

Written by a management troll. I’m sure Boja wasn’t offered anything. In fact Bob wouldn’t work for scabby and team. Ask Ed why he resigned. Next, Scabby #2 couldn’t lead a one car funeral. Good luck with that growth expansion with Amazon. You will be funding my retirement.

Curious how that new contract is working out for the ATI pilots? Particularly the part where you work for free on your days off until the guarantee is hit....

Not sure what you’re talking about;

Section 25 H 6
For each Day off during which a Pilot works as a result of awarded Open Time from the volunteer list, he will receive credit towards his line value (i.e., guarantee) for the actual hours flown, plus four hours of pay above guarantee.

You’re talking open flying. What’s your emergency assignment rules?

So you’re basically working for 4.0 hours for each day of work on a scheduled day off. To get the full credit you have to first fulfill your minimum guaranteed requirements. What about if the flight time is over four hours?

At ABX it’s 4.5 hours or flight time, whichever is greater.

Section 25 J 5:
Junior Assignment events will be compensated at the rate of four flight hours of pay per lost Day off as provided by Section 3.E.2., to be paid above guarantee, plus the Pilot will receive credit toward his line value (i.e., guarantee) for the actual hours flown.

tiredofjrm 07-29-2018 11:36 AM

I guess that’s one way to get people to volunteer. No extra money for jrm. Might as well get the trip you want vs. the trip they assign.

Which is worse at ATI required to work on your days off for free or the fact you only get 12 days off ?

Or is it the pay is about 20% less than it should be?

Or is it that there is no retirement?

We here at ATI have an industry leading contract to which alpa and the pilots supported. Our work rules surpass any other acmi carrier on the ramp. It is no doubt why we have such a high workforce retention.

“Aim High With ATI” is our job fair moto!

No pilot is required to work on their day off. If they do, it's because they chose to answer the phone or they have been Junior Manned. In either case, no one works for free as stipulated in Section 25 H 6 and Section 25 J 5 respectively.

Yes a minimum of 12 days off. Nothing in the contract says you can not have more than 12, which some of our lines do have.

As you say, I wish it was more (who doesn't). But my increase for my longevity was more than twice the number you quoted above. What many here fail to realize (or conveniently ignore) is this is only our third contract with the first being an incredibly poor Teamster contract. Because of that first one, we have a lot of ground to make up.

Or is it that there is no retirement?

"There you go again". There is. A 2.5% 401K match and a 3.5% lump sum which effectively equates to 6% if you participate. But you already knew that. And before you chime in, I will stipulate that it should be much better. And for this very reason, we have early Section 6 openers in 17 months to work on it.

Please read my response in red above.

So you confirmed the contract is much less than everyone else's. Most regionals have more days off, better reassignment pay, higher jr mann pay, higher credit and better retirement.

Would you like to tell the pilot world how you can't trip trade? You don't have any ability to post trips for drop or trade? Maybe the scope that expires at the time you need it the most.

And my personal favorite, vacation on your off days.

Nope1000 07-31-2018 02:54 AM

Another good one is carry over you can’t drop or get paid for unless you exceed guarantee!
God forbid if you have more than 12 days off when this happens as you don’t even get rig! You work for free!
What a deal

Hang10 07-31-2018 10:54 AM

The only sad thing about him taking the Chief Pilot job is he didn’t take any of his ****ty buddies from management with him!!!

More mgmt might move if they think grass greener on ATI side for whatever reason so you might get your wish. I feel like ATI would need new flying for that to happen, haven't heard of much new. Mgmt seems to move if they can to chase the $$. My worry would be that ABX just gets neglected if that happens but I guess if getting mgmt to move is the priority you can hope ATI starts drawing more over.
