Cargo Discrimination!

was i the only one who noticed mem tower allowing all of the pax jets to leave mem yesterday afternoon while we(at least 10 widebodies) sat there for 1 hour(engines running) while all of the pax guys took off....does that have something to do with the pax bill of rights?

Wouldn't you generally shut down an engine (or two, maybe, if you are an MD-11) in this case? Wait until you are close to the front of the line. Just curious.

We are generally too heavy (on departure) for Single Engine or Delayed engine start on taxi..............Thus we don't have a procedure for it.

what runways where in use for departures?

SNAFU 04-12-2007 01:30 PM

RWY 27 was all that was usable yesterday afternoon. Winds 270 at 15G31

With your hourly rate, you are complaining?

What is really surprising is that the Ramp Tower allowed you guys to push back, start engines and taxi at all. They usually are more on top of things than that. Very surprising.
