I logged 90% of my other time towards PIC, because I was still in command since I signed the aircraft and had the A code (after AC upgrade). Don't confuse PIC time with stick time. I took out 10% for when I was flying locals and someone else was in command.

I interviewed at CAL and they didn't have a problem with it or even mentioned it. I had a spreadsheet attached to my AF product explaining my conversions and it was fine.

For SWA though, I didn't count other time at all since they specifically said not to.

Whatever you decide to do is really up to you, as long as you can adequately and reasonably explain it.

IRO; International Relief Officer. Usually a typed FO. Does not sign for the A/C, assumes command if the CA becomes incapiticed.

Like C17MooseDriver said, for military pilots - just pick a conversion that you can defend and stick with it. It will likely differ by aircraft.

For everyone else, if you have to ask then it probably should not be included as PIC.

I personally threw out all other time and used 97% of my tanker time as an AC and 90% of my C-12 time. I also included my tweet solos and my team T-1 ride. Then apply the conversion per sortie. My GA time is what it is. Add it up to get some PIC number.

Ahh Great now we are getting somewhere. So if you are the Captain and you have an IRO fly 1/3 of the flight do you still get to log the entire flight as PIC?

yep, because you aren't actually having the IRO fly 1/3 of the flight. You would be the PIC flying the entire flight unless there was a ARTR changing the PIC. On flights less then 12 hours the PIC is always on duty.

There are double crewed flights at some airlines, whereupon there is an enroute change of command. The Captain and F/O for takeoff are sitting in the cabin for the landing. That's what the FAR blurb is covering.

FWIW, I'm with you. If you've got to ask, it probably doesn't count...think about the whole "transoceanic" discussion.

Sure, I carried the "A" code, but I don't think that while I was on the bunk snoozing from St. John's to Rota should count for much PIC. I also used 90% of all my time after becoming an AC and my tweet solo time to come up with my PIC.

Just my $0.02. It's what I feel comfortable justifying in an interview.

I think the biggest thing is to make sure that you go conservative enough to where if the interviewer looks at you, tilts his head and is thinking WTF, that without the hours in question, you still meet or exceed the mins for employment...

so for those of us with no military time and no ocean crossing time, am I understanding that PIC time is ONLY the time that you are scheduled as PIC, and not flying the airplane time as stated in the FAR??
