I wouldn't try to look too deeply into why your application is or is not progressing. We struggle to coordinate in normal times. Add crash upheaval, staffing changes, coronavirus, etc. into the mix and it's entirely possible your application is sitting in someone's inbox. This also means that your struggles most likely aren't related to your qualifications.

I'd do whatever brings you the least amount of stress. If you want to call and check on your status, call. If calling worries you, don't.

Are all 747 new hires going to ANC? How long to hold CVG as a 74 FO?

Yea and unknown due to current attrition coming to a halt. I’d plan a year to be on the safe side.

Edit: Just checked the seniority list. Junior 747 CVG has a 29 Apr 2019 hire date. So with Attrition grinding to a halt expect longer than that. Maybe 1 1/2 years? PAE is actually more Junior not that we might not see that base shrink due to no LCF flying. To many unknown variables over the next few months to be able to predict anything.

Thanks for the info. Are 777 FOs getting CVG and how different is that flying compared to the 74?

Jr base for the 777 is CVG, and the flying is fairly similar. More destinations on the 74, but the 777 is starting to add more charter flying. The average line value is a little higher on the 777 but the base pay is 10% less so it probably evens out.

Same thing happened to me about 5 years ago. Aced the test...went to a job fair- like, the next day -where the HR lady told me to expect an October interview. I never did hear back.

It seems consistent, my military bud had the same thing happen 8 years ago. Nothing heard and he said just leave it alone so I didn’t inquire for him. He went to United 6 years ago and was enjoying it until now of course. Good thing he jumped back to the military position to ride out the storm.

777’s More time for Massages in HKG.
747’s Less time for Massages in HKG.

he’s right. Plan on being up there until things spool back up at the legacies or we add a bunch of new airframes. These are unprecedented times and no one really knows what’s in store. In years past it was like a month or a year depending on what time of year and where in the wave you were hired. We were losing 25 pilots a month to other airlines then and adding 10-15 planes a year then. None of that is happening now you could be up there for five years for all we know.
