And if correct regarding the Polar certificate - Atlas acquired/Needed the Polar certificate for more of the very profitable Asia routes and were looked more favorably upon than Atlas in the Far East. Polar is primarily DHL and 49% owned by them if I am not mistaken. Definitely certificates to had/sold out there, but the Polar/Atlas is a little more tricky I think. Money talks of course!

Well....ATSG has 3. Two of which already have Amazon leased aircraft on them...like 35 ish. Besides what in the world does Amazon care about a company or certificate cost? Running leased aircraft and not owning a company or pilot group is certainly less stressful. If you dont like a companies performance, you just move their aircraft to another company...as we have seen.

And let them whipsaw each other, harder to do if you own all of them.

Nitefr8dog, I read before your opinion and experience with dhl and their flying. What's your opinion about AMZ? Same animal?

Same pattern. We are seeing it right now. More contract carriers all the time. Whoever is low bidder becomes the the new favorite and the low water mark.

Yup, that’s a great assessment. If they maintain their timelines its even better. If not, some oversight is applied if you will. Definitely a conglomerate of contracts with no AMZ IDs. Seems very parallel to the ground movement.
