Congratulations! I'm not on the 737, but I hope to see you around the hub sometime.

Anyone have a class date for the 76 or 74 in September?

If they have (referring to Legacy) then good for them since there probably was some deep dive scrutiny going on. It’s a matter of what is good for the company longevity wise is just a guess and I have no substantiated input. Just ran into a former legacy cat hired by us during my Korea layover. He was all too happy to be back and that was the kicker. He was a recent hire at the legacy but had been with us prior to the debacle. Must have done well during his return interview and firmly declared he wasn’t departing the fix anytime soon and I am sure if he did, it would be for another box carrier which I would bet $ on. He mentioned, it was a great sigh of relief for him and his family. Definitely a plus as he was fully aware of our operation having that first hand experience. Just flew with a couple of Compass/Trans State folks on OE and one retired Navy P-3 driver, talk about perfect timing based on current events. I must say they were very sharp!!! Great guys with great attitudes.

OE Captains mentioned we are slam packed for awhile so grab a landing if/when you can. My pattern changed several times to accommodate OE.

As long as there's regional and 135 pilots filling up classes why take someone you know won't be sticking around?
Regional and 135 guys will probably bail ATLAS also if given the chance. Atlas knows this.

Very true, but we can all guarantee a Legacy Flyer will return to a higher seniority number/$ immediately when given the chance. Regional hires will have to swim upstream for awhile before things get back to anything we can call normal again.

Nothing against Legacy as having some well experienced folks is a plus for sure - bar international know-how unless having that experience from elsewhere and even then it’s not a ‘cookie cutter‘ always the same destinations every month. We all started somehow/somewhere and you catch on quickly and we are happy to have you.

The point is what happened to UPS after 9/11 - and when they were recalled hurt a little bit, but if both use each other that’s a gain as well.

Most people are thankful and happy to have a job right now, and there are a lot of people who have been here for 20+ years happily. No one is going to be hiring for a long time. The few constant complainers aren’t representative of 2000+ pilots.

Wholeheartedly agree, I truly want everyone to be where they want to be. If your a complainer with us I definitely want you to be somewhere else. Not turning a blind eye as we have some issues but who doesn’t, especially now. Nothing like listening to one on a long haul flight which makes it toxic I think the word was. We should definitely go forth and conquer realistically and support measures to ensure/promote a great work environment, but whining isn’t one of them. Stand strong, stand proud but have a good time for Pete’s sake. Only time I wish I was Pete! That’s a good segue to pile on - have at it.

*My take overall: This place could be the best place in the world hands down, it’s just lacking a few key items.
(If you’re made for long haul/don’t require a terminal Latte Grande and are not adverse to change, etc. it works well)

Cheers to that. New guys will get a beer from me when they hit the line and we will leave the complainers at the hotel.

Default Block Time

I just got an interview invite (16 Sep) for the Atlas Widebody fleet.

What are the average Block Times per month for the 747, 777, and 767?

I will buy you and the new folks a beverage of your choice once this lock down blows over. I have stayed away from HKG as of late and got stuck in the Transit hotel at INC with the FedEx guys who led me around how to survive at the 7-ELEVEN when the food went dry a couple of months ago but there was a bar - Thanks Guys! No windows, no closet, sensor sink/no temp control, no escape. Good for a short stay but still felt bad for them. Australia is back on lock down, so for now I’ll order 3 Orange Whips for you WhipWhitaker and stay clear of any Illinois Nazis - Blues Brothers reference and nothing else folks...
