We are starting to lose aircraft and work to our competitors. Things are as bad as they seem and in many cases worse. Our average annual attrition is around 13% on the Atlas side. Losing a few hundred pilots a year is no joke.
Keep in mind, few senior Captains leave. The biggest pilot churn is in the First Officer ranks and junior Captains. Upgrades were coming for a while due to growth but now upgrade time will be exponentially increasing.
1) Few senior Captains leaving
2) Losing aircraft
3) Reduction in work from customers
This all leads to few upgrade opportunities.

I'm not sure what you're talking about but if Atlas put out a picture of two younger looking Captains I'm sure it was in no way intended to mislead potential applicants. Atlas management is honest. You can trust them.

The point is that the gent in the right seat looks like he has been waiting decades for an upgrade.
I'm sure that it was intended to subliminally suggest to customers that Atlas has experienced crews, but for our purposes in this discussion, it sends a different message.

Yes. Of course.

Atlas/Southern will continue to hemorrhage pilots, aircraft and contracts to their competitors until they’ve on the verge of, or in bankruptcy. Then they might negotiate a contract. It won’t be anything approaching industry standard. The pilots won’t get to vote on it.
Most of those here now are in GTFO mode. It’s not even a good stepping stone for a better airline.
The latest “negotiations” update will be later this week. As has been going on 4 years now, expecting little to no movement. The union has a copy of an email sent by mistake some months back between mgt discussing their plan is delay delay delay, engage in surface bargaining and throw the pilots “just enough to keep the Indians on the reservation”. That speaks for itself.

Flight time, plan for about 50 hrs a month. Most LAX flying will be over the Pacific to places like ICN, NRT, HKG, HNL to name a few places.
