At ABX, Yes, they can but you can also say 'nah ive got a doctors appointment' and swing by the doctor, get a note, and send the bill to the company. Contractually, they have to pay for it if they require a note. It's a stupid stupid system, like much of the ABX contract, and it needs to change to benefit both sides. I'm not sure how ATI works, but I wanted to make sure we kept talking about ABX

I assume when you go to work for the 16 day block, you are not sitting around, you are flying, correct.

You sit around a lot. I’d say the bulk of the lines fly 50-55 hours in a month (or bid unit).

Yeah..I worked there for a couple years. Last thing I want to do at the end of a rotation is stress if/how I am going home. Or have to teach my kids not to answer the phone when the "bad people" are calling. It was my first 121 job and was absolutely shocked that a company could be allowed to intrude into people's lives that way.

So I applied to ATI but never got a confirmation email saying they received my application. It said in the browser after I completed the application that it was submitted but I never got an email...is this normal? I'm just used to getting a "thanks for applying" type email after applying to other places so I just want to make sure it went through.
Thanks

At ABX we work 17 days in 30 but commute to work on our last day off and commute home on our first day off. That’s working 19 days in 30. If you have two blocks of work days it becomes 21 work days in 30. Let’s be realistic.

Ya, lost me on this one. Personally (which doesn't matter to anyone else..), I commute in on workday 1, and out on workday 17. I don't work or commute on day zero or 18. Many here do not (especially if you live in KY/OH). Like anywhere, including ATI, your mileage varies based on your own choosing...i.e. where you live and how you get to/from work.

You probably did, but did you check your junk folder? I got the "got your stuff, don't call us we will call you". Good luck.

Default Interview

Anyone got called for an interview? I was told by HR a few days ago I was being placed in the interview pool but haven’t received a call yet.

I believe they are staging into the pool (which HR keeps shallow and fresh on purpose). Next classes or to start after the first of the year I believe.

Hope this helps and Merry Christmas!!
