A new reality at AAWW today. The Union lost their case with the Arbitrator to stop the amalgamation of the Southern/Atlas contracts. As that was the stronger case in favor of the Union the fact that was lost anyway means amalgamation is almost certain now. Bottom line, there won’t be anything approaching industry standard pay and work rules here. No vote on any offer will take place now or likely decades for future contracts. Take what very substandard terms the company brings to the table or an Arbitrator will impose it. But hey, you might get to fly a 747 or 777...for sub regional pay and bennies as you wait behind a thousand FO’s to upgrade.

Is any of this right or just a marketing tactic? I’m really attracted for the 777. I know upgrade time is like 10 years but oddly enough I’m ok with that.
Of course you are. You’ve barely had your ATP mins for a couple of years. They are taking anyone over there at the moment.

Yeah but I'm really "attracted for" the 777. I know they put cyanide in our crew meals, abduct our pets, and sometimes burn our houses down while we're on the road, but I'm oddly enough I'm ok with that.

Condolences to all of the Atlas and Southern guys. Remember that in 2016 BK told everyone to vote with their feet who was under the age of 55. If you're a 747 Captain it'd take you 3.7 years to earn your money back if you go to FedEx or UPS. Less if you're in a lesser paying seat... I wish all of you the best of luck.

So ultimately what are the true ramifications of this for the pilot group as a whole?

No contract anytime soon. Years away. Company will impose pay and work rules they desire.

I’m out.

It means anyone that was on the fence about leaving or waiting to see if atlas could pull off an industry standard deal just promptly got off that fence and is headed to a job fair near you. Last guy turn out the lights nothing to see here
