1 week Indoc, 1 week general subjects, 1 week off to complete CBTs (your systems), then off to SITs/SIMS for 6 weeks or so.
You'll get your initial schedule on day 1, with your iPad and all your manuals.
Advice: read FCOM 2 (systems) from day one. Systems systems systems, vital to pass the oral.
Advice 2: read FCOM 1 (normal/amplified procedures), with your flows on the other hand.

how long is ground school? How long are sims? Any breaks in between?

welcome to AAWW. Plan on 70 days in Miami.

who care, it doesn’t matter, it will change anyway. If you’re already asking scheduling questions, this isn’t the airline for you.

Default Osan Leater Jacket

Too much stuff and too many leather jackets. Selling my SAI leather jacket made in Osan. $100 plus shipping. Size 44, removable faux fur liner and blood chit. Lightly worn/used. PM me. Prefer to sell it to a former SAI pilot.

That’s a chance for you young guys to pose as one of the cool kids that has the original SouthernAir leather jacket. Plus, it includes the blood chit incase you get shot down you can find your way back to friendlies.

For the Southern folks --

How many classes (and for which airframes) do you all have scheduled going forward? Right now at Atlas, we had the last update put out by the union:

767
November 30

747
November 2 (started yesterday)
December 7

With the numbers they're hiring and projecting for 2021-2022, it looks like there's likely some new growth announcements coming in the near future.

Default Training in MIA

Question for those in training:

1. Do you get scheduled for IOE right after the type rating?

No, you sit around in MIA for 2 more weeks for other sims/LOFT. I think it depends on what part of the month you finish training, as in- have you given the company your 17 days yet? If yes, off til the end of the month. Most 777 friends got scheduled first day of OE reserve.

How is the hiring outlook for the 737 for 2021?

Will there be a class starting soon?

I don’t think there’s anything official published yet

For instance, a recent poolie was given an XXXX date for the 777. He asked if that was Southern, and Atlas said yes. He said he would wait for the next Atlas 747 class. They told him it might be a while. They called him a month later for the 747 class, but he was already somewhere better.

Atlas 747 pay is higher than 777, and, from what I have read, it is easier to get more than min guarantee on the 747, than the 777.
Atlas 767 pay is less than 777, and 737 pay is at the bottom.
hi there, I’m coming from part 135 as well. Do you have any insight on the routes or schedules that a new Atlas 737 pilot may expect? Thanks, if you can, could you DM me? I’m new to this site. Thanks 🙏
