Unreliable Airspeed.

Mechanical Stabilizer / Elevator failure is actually quite complex.

I'd love to hear what sort of Mechanical failure is the simplest explanation. The airplane reacted to their inputs and there's been zero industry indications of any mechanical issues 767 wide at my airline... Or anywhere else that I know of.

However... In an unrelated note there was a change to the training standards...

Public docket indicates court proceedings. Is the CVR part of a trial, and if so, what kind of trial?
It’s the NTSB public hearing. As a point of reference the southwest engine failure fatality just released the CVR transcript 2 months ago. It’s going to take some time.

You have evidence that they are not still involved?

The NTSB will fill in the blanks soon enough.
Ockham’s razor is more of a philosophical argument than hard science. Sure it make sense in theoretical physics and other branches of science, but applying it to something that envolves human behavior isn’t so simple. FFS you could apply Ockhams razor as evidence that Neil Armstrong never walked on the moon.

This is an example...

It's possible (likely) the NTSB doesn't know what happened, or maybe not why it happened yet.

They have ruled out explosives, since the FBI went home. That's easy, since that sort of explosion would leave incontrovertible evidence which could not be confused with anything else.

I think you are 100% right. The NTSB doesn’t know yet what or why it happened. From my experience, the NTSB loves media attention and will release anything that is factual as soon as they know it. They have been very ambiguous on what they have released so far. Which makes me think they are still trying to figure it out.

Default my take.

not sure if this was said but blocked pitot tube(s) (could be birds, etc) would cause airspeed to decrease when level which could lead to power going to max, that could cause that 4 deg pitching up ie climb, if they countered it by pitching down (descending) it would cause the indicated airspeed to start decreasing, the more they descended the more it decreased causing the power to stay at max even though the true airspeed/ground speed was increasing. Also no stall was indicated but I believe that this is pure AOA not indicated airspeed. if this happened on the both sides or the flying pilot side together with a lack of situational awareness/interpretation might explain this and the statement about “Crew communications consistent with a loss control of the aircraft began approximately 18 seconds prior to the end of the recording.”
