I left overseas flying 8 years ago and went to Atlas. Got in front of the huge hiring wave and currently a 747 CA. No regrets, but that being said it was very different 8 years ago versus what is available now. I think if you did come over you would be pretty miserable. Especially if put on anything other than the whale. My advice is to stick it out a little more in China and consider retiring early. Lord knows that if you come here you aren't making bank and you're going to be junior to 1700 guys on property. Just looking at the posts from us at Atlas shows you how bad this place has become and no contract in sight.
Check are not easy at all. In China when you get old you worth nothing. Also I was looking that in the USA I can fly to 65 years old and in China only to 60 years old, I am trying to extend my career for another 5 years.

So stay in China another 5 years and come back with a million bucks in cash and find a nice gig flying a 135 business jet.
What you make now in a year will take you 3 years at Atlas.
You’re making $300k/year right now that’s an Atlas 20 year Captain/LCA.

Don't do it. I understand the desire to get home and end the BS you're dealing with, but there are so many better options out there. If you can hold out a few more months you can do much better.
We have international 767 first officers living in trailers. I'm not talking about crash pads. It's full-time family living in trailers due to financial limitations of the job.

Hi I am currently flying in China for the last 10 years making $22000 a month. I have a 2 months on and 1 month off contract in China. I just got hired by Atlas on the 747. I want to return to USA, but the salary difference is too big. I would like to hear if I should take the offer at Atlas or I should stay in China.
How is this possible?

China is not bad at all but medical checks and punishments for everything are there every day. Money is great. You can get so many different contacts that will satisfy your needs! But they really make you work here!

Thanks for your advise! I am 55 years old and that’s why I want to return to USA. Things in China are not too bad, but a lot of punishment for little things plus medical

If you go to Atlas now, you'll definitely be working your butt off til 65. 20-22 days per month on the road commuting to ANC for at least a year. Working in China may be tough, but working at Atlas won't be easy.
Good luck. That's a good problem to have!

That's a good paycheck. I would focus more on a financial plan if you haven't already? Like use that money to set up some rental properties and business investments. Go partner with someone in a Pinkberry or another franchise. I'm being totally serious, my focus would be on the quickest route to hanging it up. Preparing for my retirement days on the beach/golf course/pool. You can always fly Part 91 corporate or work as an on call contractor on a Gulfstream or something to keep busy. I hear the going rates for those guys is between 700-1000/day depending on where you live.
