Default Transition from Airbus to Boeing

Just a quick question I’m a 320 contract driver and looking at Atlas to come back to the states. Most my time in the A320 as Pic 5k plus 13k total. I’m worried about the transition from Airbus to Boeing . Anybody else done that transition

At this point in time no one flies an Airbus or a Boeing, they merely operate it.

Pushy Button, Flippy Switch at the appropriate time.

With 13K flight time, it should be "no worries 'mate".

Now you will have the opportunity to get the bag sticker "If it's not a Boeing, I'm not going".

Have fun!

You'll need to change your screen name to FD.

No problem. I did it 7 years ago with similar time to yours. You should be ok. Just don’t be a dumb dumb like me and forget to trim.

I've never done it but my brother went A320 to B75/76 and back and said it was no big deal.

Just remember to trim. Had a friend go from the A320 to the A300 and that seemed to be one of the things that they said initially took some getting used to again.

I’ve flown the B737 and 2 Airbus and think that Boeing and Airbus are different enough that it’s easy to dump previous knowledge and focus on the new. I went A320 to A300 and it was a little difficult. Similar enough in operations and systems but just different enough to sometimes mess me up. Still finished training on schedule and without any extras sims or flights needed though.

If you really want to do ACMI, I'd do Kalitta or Omni as the best paying, best QOL right now. Atlas will eventually get a decent contract, but it's a dumpster fire there right now.
