AAWW is a public company, and public company's do not get deliberately driven into bankruptcy. People could go to jail for that.

Private equity is of course a different ball game.

I'm not saying AAWW is driving itself into bankruptcy, but your statement is extremely naive.

And when you least expect it, you have a new contract...

Of course deliberate action has to be proven - in court. Good luck with that, these guys are pretty slimy . Slimy is slippery and hard to catch.

Nowadays jail is not a deterrent to rich people. Excellent lawyers can be employed to negate that risk.

This quote might be more appropriate:

"Never ascribe to malice that which may be adequately explained by incompetence."

Though the actions that I have seen would take both factors into consideration. Consider the concept of hubris, sort of covers it all.

Driving company into the ground? One can simply say they are lowering their labor costs. Encouraging senior people to leave, aggressively recruiting new people. Maybe Atlas should be renamed, "Mesa Cargo"

...and management teams were smart to play that game when there was an oversupply of pilots. In today's market, managers still playing that game are tone deaf to the new reality.

In business, you adapt or you get slaughtered. Judging by the AAWW stock performance, I would say that Atlas management team is getting slaughtered.

Serious question. Would causing the bankruptcy not be a great thing for them?

They dump the leases on the 400 freighters, which DHL doesn’t want anymore. Force you into binding arbitration during bankruptcy. We all have seen how that turns out. They emerge and are very attractive to the leasing companies. More 777’s? Low labor rates?

Seems like a pretty good business plan from their side.

After they win the last arbitration case, which we should hear about sooner rather than later, they’ll have binding arbitration anyway.
