...and management teams were smart to play that game when there was an oversupply of pilots. In today's market, managers still playing that game are tone deaf to the new reality.

At one of the recurrent meetings - came out in the conversation that I was having with him.
Crewmembers at those meetings usually either don't listen, don't ask questions or don't pay attention to the details in the communication. They are usually just confrontational - missing the clues, or figure that their reticence would speak more loudly of their sentiment. That or they are plain scared.
I love all the big talk before those meetings, or what people are saying they are going to say or do. When the meeting is in session - crickets.
I surmised that this was their plan a long time ago.
He just confirmed it.
Satisfied that I am correct in my assumption.

Sounds like they are aiming for a short term game plan for a downturn that may not happen.
