Not to be hypertechnical, but for clarity, they aren't being subcontracted out. Amazon pulled them from Atlas and hired ATSG to fly them. They are Amazon's planes in the sense that Amazon is the dry-lessee for ten years. Yes they are lleased from an AAWW affiliate, but they might as well be leased from GECAS like the 737s are. Atlas has a CMI agreement to operate them that allows Amazon to pull them from the CMI agreement at its convenience. That they are pulling some of them is entirely based on Atlas's inability sufficiently to staff all of them at the tempo Amazon wants. Spread more Atlas 767 pilots over fewer aircraft is the goal, so the remaining ones can operate at a sufficient tempo.

I know a few 747 Captains leaving. One has an interview in 2 weeks. Still... Most of the 747 Captains young enough to leave (like me) have left. Every time one leaves he/she is replaced by someone who may stay. The Captain upgrades will be more for retirements than attrition going forward.

I don't see new hires seeing 747 Captain unless they're in their 20s... If they're that young they'd dang well better plan on being gone before they see a 747 left seat.

Who cares. ....... Nothing agreed on compensation. One hour of pay for every 3 hours of DH is one of the worst in the industry.And without a truly daily rig , most of the time you don't get paid for it all.
