Part 121 Regs Question
#11
Don’t really care ... just sayin’ planes wearing SurfAir logo are picking people up under SurfAir banners in OAK advertising as SurfAir with that website. I don’t know or care who’s owning/running/flying/riding in them.
The original point wasn’t about the company anyway, it was whether such TPIC time for scheduled turbine flying counted as TPIC under 121.436.

Thanks everyone for your input; I thought the guy (happens to be chief pilot!) was mistaken, but it can be confusing.
The Part 135 time that counts towards 121 is: "...a turbojet airplane, of an airplane having a passenger-seat configuration, excluding each crewmember seat, of 10 seats or more, or of a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation as defined in part 119..."
'Commuter operation' is defined (by 14 CFR 110.2 as: "Commuter operation means any scheduled operation conducted by any person operating one of the following types of aircraft with a frequency of operations of at least five round trips per week on at least one route between two or more points according to the published flight schedules:
(1) Airplanes, other than turbojet-powered airplanes, having a maximum passenger-seat configuration of 9 seats or less, excluding each crewmember seat, and a maximum payload capacity of 7,500 pounds or less; or
(2) Rotorcraft."
