Poor saps must be worn out and flying a lot of extra. They’re earning every penny in the 75.
Not sure how the math works on that but it makes a good story. Half a year at ~$245/hour with the other half as 3rd year FO with 2 months in the schoolhouse upgrading on pay only lines. 300k is quite a feat.

And the PD deal, some people will never get it!!

I’m at roughly 2000 TT, 1500 PIC in fighters, currently flying light attack after 2 year ground tour. Getting my ATP in January and had some questions prior to sending out apps. As much as I’d love to get hired by Brown or Purple, I believe this is not realistic given the fact I have no heavy time.
My question is, what are some decent cargo operators where I can realistically make 70-80k or more year one (if any)? Is something like Mountain Air Cargo worth it for the Purple Pathway program? ATI and K4 salaries look pretty good as well, but I’m not sure if I’d be competitive there either.
I appreciate any info and guidance.

APPLY EVERYWHERE -- even passengers
Don't settle for a second rate cargo outfit because you want to ultimately fly cargo at UPS/FDX. Go fly for the best outfit that hires you until you get where you want to be. Also your chances of getting called by FedEx increases if you fly for the majors.
Do what others have done, use DAL/AA/UA/SWA as a stepping stone to UPS/FDX. You'll have better pay, working conditions, 401K, benefits and seniority should you never get called to UPS/FDX and have to stay put.
In my opinion, I think the FDX hiring department gets their kicks from stealing pilots from the majors. I routinely fly with pilots who left major carriers.

I’m not saying I like Viper pilots, but a career guy would have a tough time getting hired if they required ME Jet time.
