Atlas has two other Pilots that I can think of that are known quantity high risk pilots. One they call “Kool-Aide” and the other the “Nirobian Queen”.
One has an extensive history of failures at Atlas, the other has a falsified resume and doesn’t possess the type ratings for the company “it” claims to have worked for.

First, you aren't de-identifying anybody by using nicknames. We all know who you are talking about.
The second and more damaging problem is that you enable a frat-boy culture to persist particularly in the training department. Referring to student as "The Science Experiment" etc. feeds a system whereby our instructors aren't addressing the deficiencies in teaching and curricula. Instead they are focusing on deficient candidates,a problem more or less out of their control rather than remediating deficient training, which is in their control.
Reading the interview from JD made me sick. As long as we insist that we have a thorough training program, we will have more of the same.

PRIA was a gift for corporation.
If they wanted to 2 or 3 strike a pilot out of a sky they could have with the same pen.
Money first.

This guy was a fraud and robbed two innocent people of their lives along with robbing their families of their loved ones. He has damaged Atlas and harmed each employee there. Atlas is culpable but in the end he died a fraud that took others with him. It's pathetic all around. Makes me embarrassed to have Atlas on my resume.

As far as I'm concerned the guys at the top of the AAWH organizational chart are to blame for putting us in this situation.

Problem also is there’s almost always a lawsuit claiming racial discrimination when a pilot is let go for incompetence.
Typical case example Mesa:

Pinnacle
https://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-6th-circuit/1529517.html
Another Pinnacle

As a minority I would never think of using my race or skin color as an allegation for being fired for incompetence. I read in another thread Aska had sued Mesa after the first upgrade failure (or threatened to sue) and was then given a second chance. Atlas apparently? tried to fire him according to that same thread here someone said he threatened to sue for racial discrimination. And Atlas did not take any action. Again, just online forum rumors.

The thing about PRIA is that nobody knows to check into what you don't tell them. It's the reason that the FAA is developing the Pilot Records Database. At this point, participation is voluntary, but it is intended to be mandatory in the near future. It will be more like what PRIA should have been.

Something to ponder...
‘Leaving for personal reasons’ means what? Could be literally everything from I’m not digging this company to a death in the family, divorce or washing out of training. How are you going to require a company to record this?
Hey I’ve found a job at another place I’d rather be so “I’m leaving for personal reasons”.....or hey I’m thinking I’m not going to pass my ride I’m leaving?
How are you going to record anything without a “hard” UNSAT?
I personally know a guy who couldn’t make it through training at a Regional and is back at his local airport telling everybody he left because it wasn’t a good company.
Should we burn him at the stake for lying?

No. But you definitely shouldn't hire him to fly anything...or for any other job that requires you to trust him farther than you can throw him.
