I'm not sure I understand what is happening at Polar with DHL... plus, I was told that Atlas trips are a lot of 22 days out on the road - would that be right?

You'll have to ask someone on the Atlas side about their trips as I really don't know.

In a nutshell Atlas and Polar are owned by AAWH (Atlas Air World Wide Holdings). They are changing the way the Polar certificate reads for some reason but I do know that it has a lot to do with the DHL deal. They will be using our airplanes for their lift (freight). However, since they are buying 49% they also get a seat on the board.

There is a Charles Foxtrot (Cluster F&^*) with the two seniority lists right now. AAWH says that we are merging the two airlines and an arbitrator has already put together our seniorty list. However, there is a sticking point with the scope clause. If someone buys the whole Polar certificate then we say Polar crews should go with it. If someone buys the Atlas certificate and wants crews then they go with it. We want to put it in writing for five years and Atlas says no way -- only one year. So in other words, they would reap the benefits of what Polar has built to include the Golden tickets of the China route authorities.

Hope this helps.
