Sort of. Technically, I believe the Southern Contract is still amendable. All but 3 sections have been superseded by the LOA. The LOA brought the Southern pilots up to parity with the Atlas pilots. The three sections that are different is Scope (equally as worthless as Atlas), Contract Instructors (moving towards all in-house training again), and Catering (a few might disagree but within Southern’s DHL 777 system it’s not a huge issue).

Close...

1) Scope - Southern Air kept their old scope.
2) Contract Instructors - Management would not do the deal unless they kept the ability to outsource the entire instructor ranks to non-seniority list pilots that was allowed in the Southern CBA. (Atlas has a 50% limit).
3) Catering - Management insisted on keeping the Southern Air language for catering.

Everything else is now the same as the Atlas contract.

What's the story behind the 747s being parked? Purely because of staffing or loss of contracts also?

Many reasons I guess like other 747 operators, slowdown in global freight, DHL want 744's gone by years end, now the coronavirus and its effect on freight from China. Can't comment on Atlas' staffing etc.

Default It really does seem like Polar/Southern/Atlas

...have encountered the perfect storm

1. Inept and abusive management
2. Underpaid and demoralized pilots
3. Nearly unprecedented opportunity at better paying places with better QOL
4. Potential worldwide pandemic

i guess someone might want to go there just for the type rating - assuming they can finish before the place goes under. That would be the only reason I could see for going there.

We are done. Unless a Catastrophic shift in mgmt ASAP. Atlas will cease to exist. To much uncertainty

NH class has 3 people in it Monday. We can longer staff the flying we have, and we certainly won’t staff any future flying- everyone knows we need a CBA, so I don’t see us getting future flying until one is in place.

Only 9 days of negotiations scheduled over the next 3 months.

It’s been fun guys and girls- But the lady is signing.

I remember when the fat lady used to sing!

Now she is signing! Is that more SJW, woke millennial bullcrap?

Couple serious questions for you:

3 out of how many? Is that a 767 class?
