FDX Sim Instructor Question

Can any of you tell me what the schedule is like for FDX sim instructors. Looking at old threads I've been able to pull the following...
- 3-yr lock (followed by line job as long as you dont screw it up in the process)
- 19/23 days a month (4/5 week)
- same interview as for line guys

My question is about the day to day ops. Are they 12-hr days? Late hours? work on holidays? etc

I've seen some sim instructors (other companies) that get abused pretty bad especially since I dont think there are any crew rest requirements for them. Do the FDX guys seem pretty happy with their QOL?? Thanks for any info

Did that deal once upon a time. I can tell you that the days could be anywhere from 3-9 hours. Some will be at 0dark30 and some will be late in the evening, lasting till after midnite. Sims are usually 4:15-4:30 with a 1-1 1/2 hour brief and a short (officially 30 min) debrief. Varying times are due to slight fifferences in the various acft tracks and philosophies. Very occasionally, and I think only with your concurrance, they could give you double events, which would knock out one of your other workdays. I did that when they desperately needed someone to fill in. When I did it, the schedulers knew I hated 0dark30 but would take a late afternoon or evening sim any time. Depending on what you teach, and how advanced they check you out, you could even do things such as oral exam prep, which would be a 2-4 hour period in an FTD. If you are called in to support an empty seat in a sim ride, you skip the brief, and the sim will likely be shorter (1 pilot vs 2,) so you could be done in a couple hours. All told, while I would much rather be flying the line, it;s not a bad job, especially if it's your only way in to FDX.
