OK, just found this answer to my own question. https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/...umed-hong-kong

But would still like to hear from anyone who's had to deal with this.

Was told by our union in the past few days, that Hong Kong officials have made COVID-19 testing (throat swab) MANDATORY for inbound flight crews. You wait for up to two hours at the airport for the results, then if you test positive its off to a government quarantine facility (hospital, hotel...who knows?) Can anyone else on here confirm or deny based on their recent experience? Thanks!

Yes, it's all true.

You go to your hotel after and you will be contacted if positive. Currently there is not a separate line or facility for crew so you intermingle with the masses waiting for your turn. It’s only a matter of time before a US based crew gets an unplanned 14 day quarantine in HKG.

If you’re talking about the email from 2750, it had a lot of the details incorrect (shocking). It’s a saliva sample, and you do not wait for results. I did it, it took 3+ hours to get to the hotel after block in. Most of the time was spent in line with tons of other passengers and crew for our turn in the testing booths. The consequences of a positive test sound pretty bad...ripped out of the Cordis in the middle of the night and off to a Chinese hospital.

Did it yesterday morning. Took less than one hour. Shuttle to the convention center, register, watch a quick video, spit in a cup (the test), back to terminal. Results within three days. Seemed much better organized by now. If they don’t call you’re fine. Till then crew is free to move around and go anywhere.

Three guys now in hospital at HKG - waiting it out and not in best conditions. No more EVAC from Company.

Can you provide any specifics about "not in best conditions"?

Yeah, I'd be interested in that too... Since I Iive there and have been really impressed with the hospitals and health care facilities I've been to and/or had friends use.

Aero crew news is absolute trash but here’s something I guess.
