"O" gram 5/20
No hiring for 10-12 months. And NOT because of the NPRM.
Also - he was in HKG, which jibes with the latest rumors about a crew base in HKG. Threw a couple attaboys in there too. Nice. I *****ed the loudest the last time...... |
Lots of positive on the commuter angle as well. Addressed (I did not say fixed) all of the issues in the deviation getting tighter thread. Maybe someone who post here wispers in his ear.

I wondered how long it would take before the latest "O"-gram became the subject of another APC thread.
Well ... It's nice to get a positive update from Flight Management. I have to admit that I like his attitude. Now, if he can really fix any of that stuff I'll be impressed. I'm willing to give the new guy a chance to prove himself. He deserves that :D Mark |

Fellas:
I like the tone of this email a little better too. I'm slightly perplexed on the hiring thing though. How can he predict a 10-12 month lag? I recognize that we're fat, but 10-12 months fat? I'm trying to figure out who is going to fly all these airplanes that keep coming and are scheduled to come. Anybody have any ideas on this? Posturing or the real scoop? Bean counter misdirection? Glad to be here. WM |
I guess the bulk of the new planes won't get here for over a year. Plenty of time to start ramping up next spring. A 3 year bid won't really mean much though.

It seems like everyone is flying alot of extra now. There is virtually no open time these days. Even the bad trips get picked up. Most of us flew our schedule with no extra during negotiations, now that isn't the case. I'll bet we wouldn't be that fat on pilots if everyone flew only their line. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying there is anything wrong with this. There is nothing wrong with padding the wallet a little now after we buckled down for negotiations. I wonder what the average credit hours per pilot is these days???

It seems that when they get fat, they let reserves drop their entire line - then they build their own "line" out of open time through M/U. Can't do that when they are too short to drop either!
