Has anyone in the pool been contacted with class dates for 2022 or know what happened to the tentative January class? Thx!

That class was canceled due to lack of training recources. Lots of folks leaving and or retiring.

Next class is in March from what im told.

Saw an ad today saying the window is opening, and will remain open, 3/1-3/22.
Is it worth it?
Are the gouges on Aviationinterviews.com accurate?

I would take warm against the quick upgrade. I’m not there, but my friend looked into them a few months ago. Lots and lots of FOs leaving, of course, some CAs leaving, but not as many. They have only hired a few in the past 6 months when every other is booming. A new FOs there is now looking at 4+ years for the upgrade, given their current rate of hiring and slow growth.

Just be aware,
There’s a lot of speculations in the flight line (rumors) spreading fast, “ATSG is planning to merge ABX & ATI pilot group putting an end to the homebasing” been CVG the starting point schedule wise.

I find it hard to understand how atsg is supposed to be able to do that when it's a negotiated term of the CBA.

Just a response from someone who is here at ATI.

Our last hire class prior to the one that just started this week (2/14/22), was 9/29/21. Most ACMI carriers will pause hiring going into peak season.

A quick look at the seniority list, the Jr CA was hired 11/19. So that’s 2yrs and a few months? Going forward, I do believe that will increase. But 4+ years is a little excessive.

Growth has slowed compared to the last few years. As of today, 3 more tails are coming this year. The cause, we’re told, has been the slow down at the conversion houses due to the affects of the pandemic affecting parts/personnel shortages thus affecting slot availability.

If this “rumor” is floating around, it’s purely on the ABX side.

And as stated above, Home Basing is a contractually stipulated benefit. It just doesn’t disappear.

Right? I remember maybe six or so years ago, a different time, when the ABX guys were seeking a single transportation system for the express purpose of using their superior numerosity to jam their contract down the throats of ati's Pilots, specifically with the goal of eliminating ati's home basing. With the superior numerosity of ati's Pilots today, it would appear that neither the IBT nor atsg would be able to count on such a result now. And this isn't Atlas / Southern, because both pilot groups are not represented by IBT, with that IBT merger provision in their contracts. Also, atsg does some stupid things sometimes, but when you have added a plethora of new airplanes to your airline, and grown it smoothly largely on the basis of a mostly happy pilot group, the idea of trying to screw them, when you want to bring on an additional airplanes in the future smoothly, seems pretty damn dumb.
